Hey all! I've had a busy week at my Grandma's church. Their Vacation Bible School--or Adventure Camp--was this last week, and I've had literally zero time to write. Anyhow, I asked my sister if she had an idea for me, and she gave me the idea expressed in the title, so shoutout to her. :)
Anyways, if you're like me and you've had literally no guys find clever ways to ask for your number, no cute guys you've just met crushing on you, and no hope of ever finding your OTP, then I have no reason for you to keep reading this unless you want to be prepared for the possibility that you might actually have a change in luck.
So when this lucky occurance finally happens, and that cute guy you've been eyeing at camp finally says he likes you and asks for your number, what do you do? First: DON'T PANIC!!! If you've never had a guy ask for your number, then it's scary. There are several factors you have to evaluate before you decide how far to go.
First, where did you meet him? Big convention, grocery store, county fair? Chances are it would be better not to give him your number. He could be a first-class stalker, so giving him your number would be bad.
If you met him at a place like camp, or something smaller and in closer quarters, then it's probably OK. Especially if the camp or whatever has a good reputation.
Second, how do you know him? Randomer you just met? Don't give him the number. Someone you've met and been hanging out with for more than two days? It's probably OK. Friend of a friend? Ask your friend about him. Known each other forever? Why does he not have your number, like, a year ago?
Third, how much do you know about him? This is a little tricky, because there's a lot of things that are immaterial. I'm not talking about his height, weight, and all past girlfriends. I'm not even talking about his favorite dessert. I'm talking about his reputation. Where he goes to school is a good indicator. Typically, schools have reputations and reputations of schools come from the students that attend them. So if you know where he goes to school, that could be a good indicator. If you know his friends, that's a good reputation/character test. The people he hangs out with will tell you a lot about him as a person.
So there's a quick test to help you f igure out whether you should give him your number. And if you feel at all wary about him in general, trust your head, not your heart. It's better to be safe and not give him your number than to be sorry later. If you absolutely have to give him a number, give him the number of someone who will 100% protect you, like your dad, or your brother. Just make sure they're okay with being used as a fake number. ;)
Have a great rest of the weekend, and I hope to hear from you all if you have more tips about giving out a phone number to someone. And no, you can't have my number. ;)
